The teens — arrested at 9:52 p.m. Thursday — are wanted in connection with a New Year's Day murder in Texas, Ansonia police said.
Giuseppe Briguglio, 19, of 1111 Falcon Park Drive, Katy, Texas, and "his 17-year-old female companion" were arrested as fugitives from justice, police said.
Briguglio and the juvenile were both wanted by the Stafford Police Department in Texas in connection a murder on Jan 1, police said.
They were taken into custody without incident at 23 Beverly Drive in Ansonia, police said.
The Stafford, Texas, Police Department holds arrest warrants for Briguglio and the juvenile, charging each with murder, police said. The juvenile was also reported to be a missing person.
Briguglio was charged with being a fugitive from justice and held on $250,000 bond. He will be arraigned in Derby Superior Court on Jan. 12.
The 17 year-old female juvenile was taken to juvenile detention to be held for extradition to Texas, police said.
An information bulletin from the Texas Joint Crime Information Center listed Briguglio and Jessica Lynn Musante, 17, formerly of Shelton, as suspects in a homicide, according to the Shelton Herald.
Musante is a former Shelton High School student, the Herald said.
The bulletin warns that the two are "armed and dangerous."
Mark Holden, chairman of the Shelton Board of Education, confirmed that Musante was a wanted murder suspect and said that Shelton High took extra security measures before the arrests were made, the Shelton Herald said.
The victim was identified as Wilbert James Outlaw II, 22, from Missouri City, Texas, according to the Connecticut Post.
At 1:48 a.m. Jan. 1, there were reports of shots fired at the Estates at Fountain Lake apartment complex in Stafford, which is in the Houstan area, the Post said. Outlaw was found dead in a breezeway at the apartment complex, the Post said.
These arrests were the result of a joint investigation of the Ansonia Police Department Detective Bureau, the Shelton Police Department Detective Bureau, the Texas Rangers and the Stafford, Texas, Police Department.
The two were taken into custody with the assistance of the Ansonia, Shelton, and Derby Police Departments.
